Creamy Low-Fat Green Pea Soup

3 cups fresh or frozen peas
1/2 yellow onion (chopped)
3 cups water
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
1/2 tsp dill
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp organic kelp granules (optional)
Bring 3 cups of water to a gentle boil and add in the peas and chopped onion. Close the pot lid and allow the vegetables to become soft (about 7-9 minutes). Carefully transfer the contents to a blender. Secure the blender lid tightly and keep the lid firmly closed while gently pulsing the contents several times, gradually working up to increasing the speed until the contents are very creamy. Carefully pour the contents back into the pot and stir on low heat. Add the spices and continue stirring for another 5-7 minutes. Enjoy this delightful soup!
